Clad in golden armor, the Adeptus Custodes chapter of the Space Marines are rumored to have been hand-crafted by the Emperor Himself. Tasked with protecting both the Imperial Palace and the physical body of the Emperor, these bastions of Imperial might are considered the deadliest warriors in the galaxy, human or otherwise. Whenever a Praetor arrives on the battlefield wielding a staff of the Imperial Aquila, Space Marines become electrified with inspiration at the ultimate symbol of the Emperor.
